Welcome to INKroverts!
Hi! I’m Cherry. Thank you for stopping by!
I am a freelance digital artist from Hong Kong, and I currently use Clip Studio Paint. I love coffee, and like to livestream. I make videos, draw comics, and occasionally animate them.
Since I don’t have any formal degree in art, I learnt most of my skills from online courses like Proko and Schoolism, as well as youtube speedpaint videos from artists like RossDraws, Dave Greco, Marco Bucci, Sinix Design, 珈琲紳士lack, WLOP, nise, Yoneyama Mai, and まろまゆ.
Why INKroverts?
Drawing things has always been something that brings me happiness. But…
When I was studying criminology at uni, I have this nagging fear that my efforts and pride put in art would be wasted. My interests are too broad. One moment I’d draw characters, then another moment I’m watching criminal documentaries, and then afterwards reading Sherlock Holmes, and then I’m studying a Masters in psychology! Where on Earth am I heading in the world that values specialisation?
This is when I came up with a little experiment in the form of INKroverts. I want to combine my knowledge in art and psychology.
Our Mission
INKroverts is dedicated to digital artists who are seeking to hone their skills, find inspiration, and navigate the challenges that come with pursuing digital art. But it’s not just about art; we also recognize the importance of mental health and well-being.
As artists, we have walked the path of endless creative exploration, stress and fear of comparing ourselves with other artists, artist’s block, and the constant pressure to deliver exceptional work.
The world of digital art can be both thrilling and demanding. It requires technical skills, artistic vision, and the ability to adapt to ever-evolving technologies. As we strive to stay ahead of the curve, the pressure to excel can lead to stress, burnout, and a sense of isolation. All this can take a toll on our mental and emotional well-being. That’s where INKroverts comes in.
Our mission is twofold. Firstly, we provide resources and practical tips to help digital artists refine their craft. Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced artist seeking inspiration, our articles, tutorials, and guides cover a wide range of topics, from digital painting techniques to character design, composition, and much more.
Moreover, we understand that mental health is extremely important for creative individuals. Naturally, a healthy mind leads to better creativity, productivity, and overall well-being. After all, we create art because we enjoy it! The process should improve our quality of life instead of the reverse. Drawing upon our knowledge in psychology research, we integrate principles of mental health and self-care into our content. We explore topics such as managing stress, overcoming creative blocks, maintaining work-life balance, and cultivating a positive mindset. Our goal is to support digital artists in nurturing their mental health, fostering resilience, and finding joy in their artistic endeavors.
At INKroverts, we foster a vibrant and inclusive community where artists can connect, share their experiences, and support each other. We encourage open dialogue, collaboration, and the celebration of diverse artistic perspectives.
Whether you’re a digital artist seeking practical guidance, inspiration, or a safe space to discuss the challenges you face, INKroverts is here for you. Through our combined expertise in art and psychology, we aspire to empower artists to create art that resonates with their true selves and to lead fulfilling, balanced lives.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. Together, let’s unlock the full potential of your creativity and nurture your well-being.
